1. Enhancements to Cost Optimizer
a. Review Opportunities: Order Columns and Set Default View
Commodity Managers working in Review Opportunities will now be able to rearrange the order of the table columns and save their preferred view. On repeat login sessions, the user will see the same preferred sequence of information arrayed as previously set.
For example, the user can select the column heading on "Recommended Cost" and then drag their mouse left and drop it in front of the "MPN Cost ($)" column.
Once satisfied with the change, the user can save their column order preference by clicking the gear/save icon. This will preserve the same layout on your next login session.
b. Increased Decimal Places for Cost Values
Cost values across the dashboards will now be possible to view down to the sixth decimal place instead of merely the fourth decimal place which should prove helpful in comparing very closely priced items. Cost per 1000 has been removed as a standard column as is it is no longer necessary.
2. Enhancements to Parts Data Management (PDM)
a. PDM Excel Export Improvements
The PDM Excel Export has been enhanced to more closely mimic the data format of the PDM Application UI. Previously, the Excel Workbook exported from PDM contained all rows and columns in an unstructured view, while now it has much better usability and readability with a structured view. What you see in the application interface is what you will get in the Excel Export.
Previously, some columns were disabled by default in PDM table view, to minimize scrolling to view. When a user would prefer to include a column and have it included into an Excel Workbook export it was not possible to pull that column into the export. Now the export should mirror whatever the user has customized the table to look like in the UI, including any added columns.
Excel Export: Unstructured (Before) vs. Structured (After) View
3. Enhancements to Supply Risk Navigator (SRN)
a. Dashboard Interface Re-Organized
The Portfolio Risk dashboards in Supply Risk Navigator are being split into Product Risk and Commodity Risk. Both of which can be found in the interface under the new Proactive Risk Assessment category which retains a majority of the functionality of Supply Risk Navigator.
The News and Events category has been created and which now includes the Events and Industry News features of Supply Risk Navigator. Users can continue to make use of those features in that new category.
Summary Reports (added in release 22.05) now has its own sub-tab under the new Proactive Risk Assessment category, and this will host both Current Risk Summary and Historical Multi Source Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
b. Indicators for At Risk Parts and Available Substitutes on End-of-Life MPNs
Within the Summary Reports sub-tab in Supply Risk Navigator, MPN EOL Risk table lists all parts with (very) high and insufficient data EOL risks. The Aggregated MPN risk tells the user not only (1) if a part is at EOL risk, but also (2) whether the CPN is at risk. If the MPN EOL Risk is very high but the CPN Supply Risk is very low, that often indicates a replacement part with that same supplier has been identified. That will now be indicated in the MPN EOL Risk table.
c. Events List: Sorting Options and Download Capability
Many usability improvements to the Events list, including:
- Sort Events by Revenue, Spend, Create Date, or Updated Date
- Array by ascending or descending by clicking the bar-chart icon next to the filter input
- Ability to Download all Events in current view
d. Events Summary Card: Quick Dismissal or Re-Open
Users can review a Summary Event Card and
- Instantly dismiss the event if it is not relevant to them.
- Quickly update the status, including the ability to view a Closed or Dismissed Event and re-open it with a status of "In Review".
e. Top 20 Events by Spend Dashboard: Relative Date of Event
Top 20 Events by Spend in the News and Events dashboard will now include a relative date in the summary information under the event title so the user can easily reference how recently the event occurred.
f. Industry News: Filter by Sub-types
Users will now be able to filter industry news by primary and secondary categories. There are currently 5 primary categories and 43 secondary sub-categories. See: Supply Risk Navigator: Events - Event Types and Sub-types for a full list of all types and sub-types.
When adding a filter in Industry News
It is now possible to filter down to those primary and secondary categories listed in the link above
For example, one may want to take a look at only Environmental impacts from Blizzards in the recent news, a filter can be created for primary category = Environmental and secondary category = Blizzard which will allows the Industry News to be filtered to these exact dimensions.
