Release Highlights
1. Enhancements to the Cost Optimizer
A. Review Opportunity Workbench enhancements
Today, users get an option to review opportunities but are unable to see the
Opportunities dashboards summary insights for reviewed opportunities.
Also, users have multiple places to apply filters and no option to view all the applied
filters together.
With this release, users will be able to view a summary of previously reviewed
opportunities as well as have the option to navigate and filter the respective records
while reviewing the opportunity insights.
To do that the user needs to login→ Review Opportunity (left nav bar)
After logging in, click on the down arrow to view the opportunity insights in a single
location with applied filters as shown below:
Users can now see the Opportunity summary view as shown in the screenshot above.
Some key Insights are as mentioned below:
● Offered Opportunities by Potential Leverages
● Top 25 Commodities
● Top 25 Sub Commodities
● Top 25 Suppliers
● Top 25 Manufacturers
● Top Commodities Managers
● Opportunities by component control
These Insights charts can also be used to filter the information in the underline Review
Opportunity data.
Now users can access all the applied filters in one place as highlighted below.
Users can click on the + icon to view the list of all the applied filters. Users may also clear the
filter by clicking on the + icon available with every filter tag. To clear all the applied filters, the
user can click on the yellow box with the clear filter icon depicted in the image above.
B. eBenchmark – Show URL link to Lowest Distributor
Previously, users did not have the ability to view the source of the lowest distributor being used to calculate the opportunity while reviewing the e-benchmark at the lowest distributor saving opportunity table.
With this release, users can now access the lowest distributor link. To access this feature,
users may navigate to Saving Opportunities→ Action→ eBenchmark @ lowest distributors table. Additionally, users can click on any desired data row to view the option “See latest price and availability,” with the option to navigate to the lowest distributor parts details page.
2. Enhancements to the New Product Accelerator
A. Alternative Suppliers in Multi Source Risk
Currently, users obtain the Alternative Parts suggestions in the Program’s Risk widget
but are unable to identify the suppliers from whom the alternatives are sourced.
With this release, users would be able to view the sources for the alternatives, to plan
their sourcing strategy accordingly.
C. BOM Ingestion failure Diagnostics excel - user friendly error message
When the BOM ingestion fails, users have an option to download errors as the
diagnostics excel file.
The error messages in the diagnostics excel file have been made user-friendly to enable
users make the necessary changes easily
D. Include Zero Split Parts in EOL / Supplier Financial Risk calculations
Today, in the Risk widget, users see the EOL and Supplier Financial Risks for MPNs
whose split is not equal to zero in the uploaded BOM, i.e. the Risk widget ignores all
MPNs with zero split.
Now users have the option to choose whether to include zero split MPNs as well to
show risk, so that they can plan accordingly.
3. Enhancements to Platform / SRFX
A. Change to Levadata Password Policy
The current password policy allows users to maintain the same password until they
choose to change it.
From this release onwards, users are mandatorily required to change/update their
passwords every 90 days. A reminder message will appear 5 days before the date of
password expiration.
In case of any assistance required, please reach out to our support team through
support@levadatasupport.zendesk.com
B. Levadata security: Two-factor authentication
With this release, users whose IDs have been enabled, can login into the LevaData
application using a Two-factor authentication for better security.
Please reach out to your Customer Success Director to enable TFA.
Once TFA has been enabled for a user, they would have to log in for the first time:
- On entering the password, the user would be shown a QR code
- Scan the QR code using an authenticator mobile app (preferably Google
Authenticator or Authy)
- Enter the 6-digit code displayed on the mobile app
After the initial log in with the Two-factor authentication (TFA), the user would no longer need to scan the QR code but would have to enter the 6-digit code shown on the authenticator mobile app.
C. Filtering RFX Scope
With this release, users would be able to filter the Product RFX scope (if applicable)
based on whether the product is single-sourced or multi-sourced.
D. Column Filter in Grid - Persisting selected range
Previously, if the user selected the data range column filtering, the selected data range
would not persist after the filtered grid appears.
With this release, the data range grid stays on the page for easy accessibility.
4. Enhancements to Supply Risk Navigator
Supply Risk Navigator is a LevaData Early Adopter Product. Please contact your
Customer Success Director if you would like to discuss participation in the program.
A. Supply Risk Assessment and Mitigation - Consolidation of Functionality
Access to the SRN functionality is now consolidated in the Supply Risk Assessment &
Mitigation left menu item. Portfolio Risk, EventsBeta, Data Health and Market Trends are
now accessed via tabs within that menu and tracked via the breadcrumb.
B. Supply Risk Assessment and Mitigation - Events Beta
Supply Risk Assessment & Mitigation Events offers several usability and visibility
enhancements.
I. Event Details
The Event Details page is accessed by clicking on the Event Title, in the Events
Summary “expanded” view. The Event Details now include a summary of Impacted
Suppliers, associated News and potential Spend and Revenue (Sales) implications of
the event, which can be viewed by Product Family or Commodity.
Figure: Event Details
II. Manage Event: The user can now manage events, including the addition of events
that they may have learned about outside the LevaData platform. This feature is
accessed via the Manage Event button on the main screen, followed by invocation of
the “Create Event” button. This screen requires the user to enter information about the
location, type, and impacted suppliers associated with the event.
III. Event Status Change: Users manage the status of all events (New, In Review, In
Mitigation, Resolved, Dismissed), using the Status and Update buttons. When they
change the Status, they are now prompted to enter a reason for the change.
C. Supply Risk Assessment and Mitigation - Portfolio Risk
Summary views of customer manufacturer and portfolio risk are accessible through
the Supply Risk Assessment & Mitigation Menu Item. Potential impact of risks on
product revenue are added to the summary tables, under the table heading “Product
Sales Impact”. These reflect the total impact a risk would have on product revenue if
the risk materialized. Every product that the risk item would affect are included in
the calculation.
D. Supply Risk Assessment and Mitigation - Market Trends
Sub tabs that show sub commodity market trends, alternate supplier (by sub
commodity) and supplier consolidation trends, sub commodity trends by geography,
and predictive market watch points are now available in the Market Trends tab.
5. Known Issues
A. Issues with Review Opportunity Filers: Users might see the filters persistency
issue while navigating from review opportunity summary table to opportunity
details page
B. Large Excel export may truncate data
When downloading data from the platform, please do not use Excel format
and use CSV format instead. We have a known issue in Amazon QuickSight
where Excel downloads truncate data when certain limits are exceeded. Excel
exports could be missing data.
According to Amazon, the maximum number of rows you can export to Excel
from a Pivot Table is 20,000, but if you have many columns (and therefore
create many more cells per row) then the limit shrinks. For several cases in
the platform, because our report has so many columns, the number of rows
can get limited down to 2,000. The behavior is the same with Table
visuals. Here the maximum limit to the number of rows is 100,000. Again,
the more columns you have, the lower this limit will be.
Amazon has also stated that the data that is used to populate Pivot Tables
(and therefore the Excel exports) is fetched from the backend. If you see that
a Pivot Table has not fully loaded, this means the data is still being retrieved
from the backend. To make sure your Excel report contains all the data, it is
necessary to wait for the data load to finish and only then initiate the export.
