Release Highlights
1. Enhancements to Cost Optimizer
A. Additional Filter in the Review Opportunities Workbench
The Review Opportunities Workbench is a new capability that allows you to find the most compelling savings opportunities, accept or reject the savings opportunities, automate these reviews with business rules and then persist past review status so you can focus on new opportunities each time. Please contact your customer support representative if you would like to learn more about this capability. In this release, we have added additional filtering capabilities for CPN, MPN and CMODM.
To access the review opportunities and filter options, the user should follow the steps below:
● Login with valid credentials
● Click on Review Opportunities from the Left Nav bar*
● Expand the Scoreboard by clicking on the arrow displayed on the left in the
Scoreboard
● Now users can see all the filter options align with the scoreboard summary of the review opportunities.
B. Enhancement to Opportunity Expiration rule
Previously, when a user accepts an opportunity, the remaining inferior opportunities in the not reviewed state expire while the opportunities which are equal in $ amount remain in the not reviewed state. With this release, when the user accepts an opportunity, both the remaining equal and inferior (Lower) opportunities that are in the not reviewed state would expire. This simplifies opportunity review. It is recommended that, amongst equal magnitude opportunities for the same record, you accept whatever you consider as the highest leverage opportunity lever so that other equal magnitude, but lower leverage levers expire automatically.
C. Review Opportunity Grid will show the Top opportunities by default
Currently, while the user accesses Review Opportunities, users see All Opportunities by default whereas user can switch toggle from All to Top opportunities view
With this release the user will see the Top opportunities by default, and have the ability to toggle between All and Top opportunities view.
* Note: Review Opportunities is launched under LEAP (Leva Early Adopter Program). If you would like to access this feature and do not see the option, please contact the LevaData customer success/support team.
2. Enhancements to New Product Accelerator
A. Modify key to identify EOL information
Today, the End of Life (EOL) information in the NPA module is displayed by
Manufacturer Part Number (MPN). There may be cases where the same MPN has
different EOL information by different manufacturers.
This release addresses this issue - the EOL information would be displayed by the
following rule(s):
i. Identify EOL by MPN / Manufacturer combination
ii. If not found, identify EOL by MPN
Example:
MPN | Manufacturer | EOL (Years) |
SN74LVC1T45DRLR | Texas Instruments | 15 |
SN74LVC1T45DRLR | Murata | 14.8 |
3. Enhancements to Supply Risk Navigator
Supply Risk Navigator is a LevaData Early Adopter Product. Please contact your
Customer Success Director if you would like to participate in the program.
D. Supply Risk Navigator Menu Bar
The Supply Risk Navigator Menu bar name was changed from “Supply Risk Assessment
and Mitigation” to “Supply Risk”.
E. Portfolio Risk Updates
i. Platform Scope Filters are now enabled in the Portfolio Risk tab in Supply Risk
ii. Impacted Sites: The MPN Risk Factors Table indicates if the manufacturing sites
for the MPN are potentially impacted by a negative event. The indicator is “Yes” if
any of the possible manufacturing sites are potentially impacted; “No” if none of
the possible manufacturing sites are possibly impacted and left blank if there is no
information about COO or MPN manufacturing sites available. Note: If Part-Site
maps are not available, COO is used as a proxy and all known manufacturer sites
in that country are used as potential manufacturing sites.
F. EventsBeta
i. Expandable Scoreboard
A pie chart that indicates events by state was added to indicate the number of events
in New, In Review, or In Mitigation status. The chart offers a drill down that filters the
tables below to include only states in the indicated state. Additionally, the filter is
tracked in the new “drill down filter” bar.
Similarly, the map allows for drill down at the supplier, event type, or event state.
The average Resolution Time now shows two bars, one for average resolution time
over the past 12 months, and one that shows the same over the past 6 months.
ii. State Changes (Events, Sites, Parts)
Users can now update the state of an Event, Site, or Part by selecting the “Change
Status” button. This will activate a pop-up whereby the user can select the new status
and enter a reason for the change. Note that, when a state is changed, it is reflected
automatically in dependency sites and links. For example, if an Event is “Dismissed”,
the state of all dependency sites and parts are also dismissed.
A “State History” panel that indicates the history of all status changes is added at the
Event, Site, and Part level.
iii. Alternate Parts
The “Parts Affected” screen now indicates if there are any FFF alternates present in
the community (highlighted) rows, as well as the count of the alternates. Thus, if the
user wishes to “Explore Alternates” for affected parts, they can select only those parts
that actually have alternates.
G. Data Health
Tables and charts that indicate the number and spend for parts with Community COO
or with Customer-supplied COO are provided:
4. Enhancements to the Platform/Smart RFX
A. Country Of Origin - Multi Select option in RFX Response (Excel)
When suppliers/vendors update their RFX response, they can select multiple COOs from
the LevaData application UI and from a dropdown list in the excel upload, thereby
reducing the chances of typos and errors.
B. Track Discounts in Product RFX
While negotiating Product, customers are unable to capture discounts/cost reductions
as part of the Product RFX. This had to be communicated offline.
As we strive towards eliminating offline transactions during the Negotiation process,
vendors can now add discounts, in the form of negative numbers, in BOM and
Transformation sub-tabs, respectively. This will make sure that the discounts are
accounted for at the time of Product Cost rollup.
C. List of Supported Browsers - Notification to Suppliers / Vendors
Supplier/Vendor users can now view the list of supported browsers on the Supplier
Portal
5. Known Issues
A. Review Opportunities related issues
i. User might face the slow performance while accepting or rejecting the
opportunities
ii. For a given part record, the aggregate value of Not Reviewed opportunity
currently shows the full value of the not reviewed lever with the largest
opportunity rather than the incremental opportunity above the largest accepted
opportunity. So, say if for a given CPN, MPN, Manufacturer at CMODM from a
given Supplier if we had accepted a Peer Group YoY Savings opportunity of
$5,000 and there was also a Benchmark opportunity of $6,000 that is still not
reviewed then the scoreboard currently incorrectly counts all $6,000 into the
Not Reviewed tally rather than only counting the incremental opportunity of
$1,000.
