Proactive Risk Assessment is an Insights-to-Action component in the LevaData platform which enables a Business Continuity Manager to protect margins and revenue by facilitating both proactive and reactive risk monitoring, risk impact assessment, and risk mitigation and response. We refer to proactive monitoring as it pertains to the evaluation of structural risks in the supply chain, while reactive monitoring and evaluation facilitates assessment and response in the event of a crisis.
Market Trends shows cost, demand, lead time and consolidation trends across the commodities portfolio. This module allows users to anticipate risk from observed market trends and uses a canonical ontology to classify commodities and sub-commodities to discern trends. You can find a mapping from your own commodity and sub-commodity classification to the LevaData canonical ontology separately.
As with the other main Portfolio sub-tabs, just below the tab name is an area for filtering called Controls. Multiple filtering options are available to you:
Watch Points flag a confluence of trends that indicate a possible risk of supply shortage (e.g. sub-commodities with a high risk of supply shortages). We are currently developing additional AI-based methods to leverage LevaData community data and broader market data to predict changes in market trends (e.g. when we expect the cost trend to reverse).
Additional charts in the Watch Points sub-tab show trends on each index across time. As with the other tabs, making a selection in the top section will filter the entire tab.
Note: You can zoom in on the range of time by dragging the time slider below the X-axis.
Sub Commodity Trends
The Sub Commodity Trends screen shows a holistic view of market trends at a Sub commodity level. This screen shows trends with respect to cost, demand, lead times, consolidation, and a sentiment of the market.
Similar to Sub Commodity Trends, Manufacturer Trends shows insight specific to manufacturers such as their market share, consolidation index, market concentration, etc. This example screenshot below is filtered via controls to the Commodity Cable Wire from 2021-Jan-01 to Present:
The Geographic Trends sub-tab provide insight into how the market is doing across various geographies. There are four separate dashboards that show Geographic Concentration, Geographic Trends, Customer vs Community Spend by Country of Origin (COO), and Geographic Concentration Trends: Details.
Note: If the user's organization has not loaded any customer data for this view, then only the Community data will be presented visually.
The Geographic Concentration dashboard indicates spend by Country of Origin (COO) where COO is based on user input. When user specifies more than one COO for any given single part, the spend will be distributed equally across each of those countries and may distort the spend breakdown by COO on these metrics.
Filtering by a specific commodity (e.g. Electromechanical) is supported to enable viewing the concentration of your organization's spend in that commodity:
You can further drill-down into sub-commodity (e.g. Fuses) to see the spend by country for that:
