Release Highlights
1. Enhancements to Supply Risk Navigator
A. Vendor (Supplier) Site Management
LevaData maintains a vendor/supplier site mapping database through which site
types (manufacturing, distribution, etc.), locations, and contact information are
managed and maintained by the supplier. This data enables identification of sites that
may be impacted by global or site disruption events, and additionally facilitates
efficient mapping of your portfolio of parts to their upstream supply chain locations
and ultimately, the assessment of event impacts on your portfolio (parts, products)
through the SRN product. When site contact information is included, it also enables
digital collaboration with site managers.
Suppliers manage their site database through the supplier portal, while customers can
view the associated site information or add their own sites through the Customer Site
Management screen in LevaData.
a. Vendor (Supplier) Portal to Maintain Supplier Sites
Suppliers can now maintain and update their Manufacturing, Distribution and other
Site information in their vendor portal. This enables entry of the information one time
and thus facilitates completion of part-to-site RFI requests. The data is maintained
and updated via the Administration screen in their portal, a demo example of which is
shown below.
Suppliers can easily add, delete and approve sites using convenient drop-downs to
enter data items with a fixed set of options.
Mandatory data includes site type, site description (text), the site name/ID (the
supplier’s site name/id is used for the mapping of parts to that site) OR if the supplier
does not have an internal designation, an automatically generated name (Supplier +
Site Location + Site Type) is used. Site location (Country, State, City, Address) and
optional contact information (Contact Name, Phone Number and Email) are also
maintained.
Suppliers can work directly in the portal, or optionally download, edit and re-upload the site list, the latter approach of which may be especially convenient during the initial population.
Detailed training on the use of the portal will be provided directly to suppliers.
b. Site Management - Customer View of Vendor Sites
Customer administrators can view supplier sites and associated information through
the administration>Vendor Site Management>Vendor Sites.
Additionally, Customers can add, manage and view their own sites through the
Administration > Vendor Site Management> My Vendor Sites. This might be used to
add CM/ODM sites, call centers, etc., or any site the customer would like to track in
the event of site disruption events.
B. Part-Site Mapping via RFI
Supply Risk Navigator’s Risk RFI can be used to collect Part-to-Site or Part-to-COO
mappings directly from your suppliers.
a. Customer Creation of the Part Site RFI
The user creates a digital request for the part-to-site maps through the Risk RFI
(R21.09) (1. in the figure below), then either. creating a new filter (2.) or selecting an
existing filter(3.) to view the parts that they would like to review for part-to-site maps,
then selecting those parts to send to the RFI (4.). Finally, choosing the Create RFI (5.)
transfers the user into the SMart RFX with the parts preselected:
Once transferred into SmartRFX the user selects the Part-Site Mapping template as
shown below, and can further refine the part / supplier selection as per standard
SmartRFX procedures. Upon submission of the RFI, SmartRFX distributes the RFI to
the suppliers.
b. Supplier Part-Site RFI Response
Suppliers map the parts to the appropriate primary and alternate manufacturing sites
that they maintain in their vendor portal (described above) using a standard template. Upon completion of the template, they submit it to the customer for review using standard SmartRFX procedures.
The RFI template includes the following fields:
Read-only: Vendor (RFi recipient), Supplier, Manufacturer, CPN, MPN, Description,
CM_ODM already populated.
Writable fields for the supplier to fill in: Supplier Site and Site Type dropdowns that
allow the vendor to enter up to 4 sites and a designation of “Primary” or “Alternate” for each of the sites. The option to instead enter only Country of Origin (COO) is also
offered.
In the supplier portal, the RFI template appears as below, where the site data can be
filled in using the dropdowns or, as per standard SmarRFX process, a
download/upload option is also available.
c. Synchronization of Part-to-Site Data into the Customer Database
Upon acceptance, the part-to-site data is automatically synchronized into your
Customer database for use by SRN in ongoing risk analysis.
2. Enhancements to SRFX
A. Recipient type in Information Share
Currently, In the Information Sharing feature, users can share Information only with the Suppliers. Going forward, they can even share the Information with CMODM's as well by using the newly introduced option "Recipient Type."
Using the Recipient Type option (in the Information Sharing feature’s configuration screen), the users can choose to share information either with Suppliers or CMODMs.
Recipient Supplier or CMODM columns are made available in the Templates for reference purposes, and users can verify the recipient type and name on the preview page before sharing the template.
