Release Highlights
1. Enhancements to Platform
A. Task Management
Task Management is a universal feature that has been added to the LevaData platform. It enables a user to assign a task to a person and include the context of the page and filter the assignee is referring to.
- Users can assign tasks by clicking the task icon
in the upper right corner of the platform.
- User then clicks
and an entry window is pre-populated with the context of the page waiting for the user to assign it to someone.
- An email notification is sent to the creator and assignee upon creation, edit or deletion of a task. The email contains a description of the task and a contextual link into the LevaData platform providing the same view to the assignee as the creator.
- If the user is already signed into the platform, they will be directed to the specific link. If not, the user can login and then click the link from the email for direct access to the link destination.
- A notification is included in the LevaData platform to quickly see latest, historical and closed task assignments in descending aged order of assignment.
In future releases, we will gradually incorporate this universal feature throughout the LevaData platform.
B. Task Management Integration in PDM
Users would be able to create, assign and manage tasks from the Parts Data Management screen
C. Parts Data Management - Maturity Level handling
When a part’s maturity is at level 5, it is an indication that the part is in Production and is mostly part of a sustenance BOM. In this case, the user would not be able to modify the maturity level of the part.
2. Enhancements to Cost Optimizer
A. Reconciliation of Users actions for Opportunity reviews
Starting with this release, when a user accepts, rejects or puts on hold an opportunity for a given quarter, the system will automatically apply the same disposition to that same CPN, CM/ODM, MPN, Manufacturer and Supplier, to all future quarters if an identical opportunity exists.
This enhancement will help commodity managers to expedite the opportunity review process.
3. Enhancements to Supply Risk Navigator
A. Customer view of part-to-site mappings
LevaData recently introduced the RFI capability whereby Supply Risk Navigator (SRN) users can digitally collect Part-to-Site mappings directly from suppliers. If you would like to participate in a Pilot effort to collect this information from a few of your strategic suppliers, please contact your Customer Success Representative.
In previous releases, users could review the data in the RFI itself at the time of return from the supplier. With the current release, customers can now view, edit, download and upload Part-to-Site and Part-to-COO mappings directly through the User Interface Administration Screen, on the Part Site Mapping tab as shown below.
B. Email notification of events
Licensed SRN Users can now elect to be notified of Risk Events by email. In order to subscribe, Users must be set up by a Company Administrator. This is accomplished by setting the “Subscribe to Events” column to “Yes” for all subscribing users through the User Configuration page in the Administration tab.
Event subscribers will receive the following email types:
- Immediate email notification of any event that LevaData detects and has estimated to have an impact on their customer-level portfolio. Note this reflects the best estimate of impact given the data that is available in the customer database ranging from best (part-site mappings have been collected) - to moderate accuracy (Customer COO has been collected) - to least accuracy (Community COO, if available). If no Part-to-Site of COO data is available, no impact will be calculated.
- A daily events digest of all events detected by LevaData AI or added by the customer.
5. Enhancements to Smart RFX (SRFX)
A. Task Management in SRFX
Currently, SRFX users don't have an option to collaborate with other users on the platform. With the Task Management integration, Users can now create a task for themselves or collaborate with others by assigning a task from the SRFX module.
Need someone else to create an RFQ for you? Or find some CPN's? We've got you covered.
Create a task for existing RFX:
Users can select single or multiple RFX's to create a task in the RFX Summary.
For instance, task management can be handy in
- Setting a reminder to Send, Share or view an RFX
- Assign a task to follow up on the RFX progress
- Track multiple RFX status
Create a task for the new RFX:
Various actionable tasks can be created during the configuration of an RFX. In the RFX scope screen, the task creation icon can be found beside the Draft button. To create a task, the user shall first save the RFX as a Draft.
Once the task is created, it can be accessed from the Task Notification Center. Users can view the task details and the location where it was created. By clicking on the location hyperlink, the user is directly navigated to the respective screen.
If a task is assigned to the other platform users, an email notification is sent with detailed task information.
6. Enhancements to NPA
A. Additional Filters for NPI BOM
3 new filters are now available to help NPI program members to rapidly analyze the BOM and identify CPN with missing cost or where there is discrepancy between CM provided cost and internal cost secured for sourcing team.
Filter 1: CM WAC > LD Cost
Applying this filter will show to the user the CPN’s in BOM where the LD CPN cost is less than CM WAC. The filter checks only for the parts where the cost roll up flag is set to “Y” and CPN Cost is not null or zero. Typical follow up action for the costing manager equipped with this insight is to task commodity manager for that CPN to follow up with Contract Manufacturer
Filter 2: CM WAC < LD Cost
Applying this filter will show to the user the CPN’s in BOM where the LD CPN cost is more than CM WAC. The filter checks only for the parts where the cost roll up flag is set to “Y” . Typical follow up action for the costing manager equipped with this insight is to ask commodity manager for that CPN to get a requote from the supplier
Filter 3: Missing CPN Cost
Applying this filter will show to the user the CPN’s in BOM where the LD Cost is missing (null or zero). The filter checks only for the parts where the cost roll up flag is set to “Y”. Typical follow up action for the costing manager equipped with this insight is to ask commodity manager to ensure sources and cost for that CPN are defined
Note: The filtered are combined by AND conditions. Since these filters are mutually exclusive, only one filter should be applied at a time
B. Task Management Integration in NPI BOM
With the integration of Task Management, NPI program members can now collaborate with other LevaData platform users through actionable tasks. This capability can also be used to self assign a task as a reminder. Once the task is assigned, it is available to view from the Task Notification Center (see Platform Enhancement <hyperlink> for monitoring, edits and closure.
Key features:
1. Create task for one or more CPN
The user can select one or more rows and use the create a single task encompassing multiple CPN
2. Automatic restoration of location
The location is hyperlinked to take the user back to the original location and show the records for which tasks are opened. E.g. user is directed to the specific revision of the BOM and context filters are applied. Use can also click on specific tag on the context (CPN) to further filter to specific CPN
3. Automatic Email Notification
The creator and assignee gets an email notification upon creation of task, edit of task as well when task is deleted. The location and context hyperlinked are the same as what the user sees on Task from within the Task Notification center. The user can use these links to directly navigate to the location. Note- user must be signed in to allow location navigation. If the user is not signed in - user will be taken to the login page. In this specific release, the location context is not preserved when the user logs in.
