How can I find all my parts sourced in a specific country? Follow

LevaData Platform's Risk feature can identify all MPN Risks. This helps you understand what products are impacted by supplier risk. In reviewing sourcing data and evaluating risks in specific geographic areas, you may want to examine parts sourced in a specific country and whether or not that country is the sole manufacturer of a part. There are multiple controls to assist with this search if country information is associated with the part in either your data or our community part data.

Identify the Country of Origin

When you land in Risk, you will land on the Portfolio Risk tab, and you can (1) expand the Controls and further configure either (2) Source Country of Origin (COO) or (3) Country.

Source COO can have both single country and multiple countries of origin listed, so you may want to use that to select parts that are made only in that country, or you may want to select combinations of that country and another country. For example, in Source COO, we could select (1) China and get only parts that wholly originated in China, or we could select (2) China, Japan, Malaysia and return parts which are sourced in all three countries. If we select both items simultaneously, we will get parts only sourced from China and parts that can be sourced from all three countries. Since there may be some value limitation to making many selections here in this manner, let's look at the other filter option as well.

If you (1) open the Country field and select Indonesia for example, the data will be filtered to all possible combinations of country of origin that include Indonesia either partly or wholly. Of special note here is the Blank space field, this matches with parts that do not have country of origin data entered, so if this is selected, you will see all entries with N/A values for Country of Origin.

With Country: Indonesia elected, when we scroll down to our MPN Risk Factors table, we can see that our data includes two entries, both of which have Indonesia and one other country (in this example, Japan)

If we change our Country to China, we get many more examples in this data set, including some that are both parts which are wholly made in China and some which are made in many countries including China:

If we go back and change our Source COO to equal China, then we only see COO that is solely China:

You can select however many countries you wish in either combination of these inputs to drill down into your manufacturer part number risk factors and analyze risks in those distinct geographies. Hopefully the distinction between these two input fields makes sense:

1. Source COO can be one country or many countries in a series who produce the same part, a selection in the input for this value will attempt to exactly match the same entry in the COO column of the table regardless of whether it is one country or many countries listed.
2. Country is always going to be just one country in the input that will match with any equal COO in the table - even if the part is also manufactured in other countries.
