What filters are available to uncover costing issues in my bill of materials? Follow
Three filters are available to help users of BOM Compare to identify Customer Part Numbers (CPNs) with missing costs or CPNs where there are cost discrepancies between the Contract Manufacturer (CM) provided cost and internal cost secured by the sourcing team.
Bill of Materials Filters
Set Up:
- Ensure a program is created and BOM is uploaded to this program.
- Ensure for test parts - following value exists: Cost Roll up Flag = Y or N, CM Weighted Average Cost (WAC) Cost and LevaData (LD) Cost.
Steps:
- Navigate to BOM Management
- Switch to Flatten BOM View (optional)
- Click on the filter to apply. Once applied it will turn blue
- Click again to remove the filter
Filter 1: CM WAC > CPN Cost
- Applying this filter will show to the user the CPNs where the LD Cost is less than CM WAC.
- The filter checks only for the parts where the cost roll up flag is set to "Y" and LD Cost is not null or zero.
Filter 2: CM WAC < CPN Cost
- Applying this filter will show to the user the CPNs in the BOM where the LD Cost is more than CM WAC.
- The filter checks only for the parts where the cost roll up flag is set to "Y"
Filter 3: Missing CPN Cost
- Applying this filter will show to the user the CPNs in the BOM where the LD Cost is missing (null or zero).
- The filter checks only for the parts where the cost roll up flag is set to "Y".
Note: The filters are combined by AND conditions.
- Since these filters are mutually exclusive, only one filter should be applied at a time.
- If a combination of two or more filters are applied, you will get no results as expected.
