How can I action and review tasks related to my bill of materials? Follow
With the integration between BOM Compare and Task Management, users can collaborate with other LevaData platform users through actionable tasks. This capability can also be used to self-assign a task as a reminder. Once the task is assigned, it is available to view from the Task Notification Center.
Task Management
Create Task
- Navigate to the BOM Management tab to view the revision of a Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Select one or more CPN for which the task is to be created and click on the Task Management Icon:
- Fill in task details and post the task. Fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory. The location and tags are pre-populated based on context from which task is created.
View Tasks
- Click on Task Management icon in the upper right corner of the platform.
- This opens the Tasks panel listing Tasks created.
Search for Tasks
- Click on Task Management icon in the upper right corner of the platform to open the Tasks panel.
- From within the Tasks panel, specify the search term in the search box.
- You can search on Topic, Description, Due Date, or Assigned To.
Filter on Tasks
- Click on Task Management icon in the upper right corner of the platform to open the Tasks panel.
- From within the Tasks panel, click on the dropdown list of values and choose between All tasks, (Tasks) Created by me, or (Tasks) Assigned to me:
Sort Tasks
- Click on Task Management icon in the upper right corner of the platform to open the Tasks panel.
- From within the Tasks panel, click on the icon between the Filter Tasks and Add Task, this icon changes depending on what sorting methodology you use.
- You can use both the Search input and Filter input in tandem with this sorting option.
- You can sort in the following ways:
- Due Date View: List all open tasks with their due date, sorted from oldest due date at top to newest due date at bottom.
- Assignee View: Lists the owners of assigned open tasks in alphabetical order by first name with their tasks listed under their name sorted from oldest due date to newest due date.
- Status View: List all tasks by their status value, sorted from oldest due date at top to newest due date at bottom. Usually this is just Open tasks; however, closed tasks that have present or future closed dates are shown in grey, if user desires to reopen them.
Edit Tasks
- Click on any specific task in the Tasks panel, this opens up the Task Editor (depicted below)
- The task topic and description can be updated.
- The status can be reviewed or modified to Open or Closed.
- The assignee can be viewed or modified with a dropdown list of available users.
- Due date/time can be viewed or modified with a dropdown calendar and clock.
