- Enhancements to Cost Optimizer
1. Enhancements to Platform
a. Coverage Profile
The Coverage Profile feature was enabled between the 22.03 and the 22.04 releases and is fully documented here - Coverage Profile - with all coverage metrics and data filters explained. If you have any questions about enabling the coverage profile on your account, please reach out to your customer success manager.
2. Enhancements to Market Intelligence
a. Custom Part Intelligence
Custom Part Intelligence is a new feature within the Market Intelligence module that enables users to Benchmark the previously "Un-benchmarkable."
Custom Part Intelligence presents awareness of price variance in resin part number pricing and machine rates per press tonnage. Users can see where a lack of data integrity (e.g. Dark Gray, Dark Grey, D Gray, DG, etc.) of nomenclature (colors, Resin Types, Suppliers, Molders etc.) is preventing consolidation awareness that can create savings opportunities. They can also see where price variance occurs within the most logical grouping (e.g. resin, part number, and color).
The Dashboard enables rapid click-to-filter visuals that provide awareness detailed for a customer to understand the causes of each opportunity presented.
- Note: Future iterations will enable integrated actions to permit the user to directly achieve the savings offered.
Resins is the first developed example; however, this module can be leveraged for other part attribute groups (e.g. Metals, PCBs, Packaging, Wires & Cables, etc.).
Users can provide their Plastic Resins costs models to LevaData for upload and the platform will instantly show price variances and opportunities for Resin pricing and Machine Rates. Reach out to your customer success manager if you would like to take advantage of this new feature.

3. Enhancements to New Product Accelerator (NPA)
a. NPA BOM Import Attributes from Previous Revision
New Product Accelerator (NPA) users will now be able to enrich their most recent Bill of Materials (BOM) revision with cost and risk attributes via:
- Initiating a Request for Information (RFI)
- Performing auto-fill from Parts Data Management (PDM)
- Supplementing any final changes with manual editing
This is especially relevant if the source of prior data enrichment was user-entered data or updates from an RFX process. Now, after the user concludes their standard phase of risk and cost analysis and uploads or ingests a new BOM revision with previously identified part attributes, they can be confident that NPA will automatically enrich these attributes in this newest BOM revision.
4. Enhancements to Supply Risk Navigator (SRN)
a. Industry News Personalization
Persisted Filters are now available in the Industry News Page. These allow individual users to set filters for the preferences (Suppliers, Commodities, Keywords, Severity, Location, and News Category). They can be added by selecting the (+) button or applied on the left-hand side.
For example, if we wanted to check on specific suppliers in a specific country, we can setup a News Filter for that:
Then we can see news that is unique to that Country and impacts those suppliers:
When creating a new filter:
- Filters set to Public are available to your entire organization.
- Filters set to Private are only available to you as an individual user.
b. Add News Button in Industry News
Add News button has been added to the Supply Risk Navigator interface within the Industry News sub-tab. This feature helps users to add news that they consider relevant that may not appear in the LevaData list.
This allows users to manually input a news story they discover independently of our platform and then track it in LevaData with the benefits of our system (i.e. Site Impact, Part Impact, etc.). Alternatively, users can create an event and take advantage of all the event features (i.e. Task Management, impact analysis, etc.) and they can add the news, create an event from it, and share that with others in their organization.
When users select the (+) Icon to add news, they will be asked to input the following fields:
After doing so, the news will be able to be interacted with for Supply Risk mitigation actions just like other news items which are ingested and displayed via our algorithm.
c. Updates to Expandable Scorecard
The event scoreboard now shows counts of events in various states. Dismissed and resolved events include only those for the past 12 months. Average resolution time is similarly calculated over the past 12 months.
Potential Impact Spend and Impact Revenue are now displayed in the left panel of the expandable scorecard for all New/Unprocessed events, Events In Review, and Events in Mitigation.
d. Product Revenue Impact in Events and Affected Sites Tables
In the Events sub-tab of Supply Risk Navigator, there is now a new table column for Potential Revenue Impact in both the Events Summary and Supplier Sites Affected tables. Both columns are sortable.
e. User-Created Events - Add All Suppliers to the Event within a Specified Geography
The Event creator can choose to add some or all suppliers associated with sites in specific geography. When you indicate a Supplier in this way, they will be added to the Suppliers Impacted in the Event.
f. Updates to the Event Risks Card in the Integrated Dashboard
The Event Risks Card in the Dashboard module has been reformatted to clarify the meaning of the data. Active Events are any Event in status "In Review" or "In Mitigation." Spend Impact is the potential Spend Impact of all Active Events, and MPNs is the Count of all MPNs that are potentially impacted by the Active Events. Separate labels indicate the "Highest Spend Impact Event" and "Most Recent Event" in the metric card, and both Events can be clicked into which will directly send the user to the event in question in the Events interface.
5. Enhancements to Cost Optimizer
a. Additional Columns in Review Opportunities
Now Users can see the following new columns as part of the Review Opportunities table:
- Forecast (QTY): Displays the respective part's demand forecast numbers for the quarter indicated.
- Part Description: Displays the respective part's description.
- Commodity: Displays the respective part's commodity categorization.
- Sub Commodity: Displays the respective part's sub commodity categorization.
b. Integrated Dashboard: Saving Opportunities Metric Card Update
Users will now see the Next Four Quarters of rolling opportunities in the summary view of Saving Opportunities available in the metric card on the dashboard. Available Savings calculates the sum of the maximum opportunities for each record that the user has not rejected.
Hovering over any of the bubbles in the chart will produce a tooltip which displays a given opportunity with Spend and Savings values listed:
Clicking into the header for metric card will take you to Review Opportunities with the next four quarters pre-defined in the scope filter:
