How can I enable scrollbars in the LevaData Platform if I cannot see them? Follow
Within the LevaData Platform, there are many areas which have large tables with horizontal scrolling so you can review numerous line items against a single part (for example). Operating Systems in the last few years have introduced UI settings which permit users to disable scrollbars across all applications. Usually this does not present any issues in most applications as the user will have the ability to use the mouse scroll wheel, or trackpad, or other manual input; however, this does introduce issues when the user has to scroll horizontally, as most devices do not have an intuitive input for that other than clicking and dragging a scrollbar.
Enabling Scrollbars in Your Operating System
If you are experiencing issues with being unable to navigate the large tables in some areas of the LevaData Platform, we recommend enabling scrollbars at the operating system level so that this navigation option is available to you in our application. We will cover each of the most common operating systems for our users and direct you to where the scrollbar configuration is in each OS.
Windows 10
- Open the Settings application
- Navigate to "Ease of Access"
- Navigate to "Vision > Display"
- Navigate to "Simplify and personalize Windows"
- De-select / Turn off the option for "Automatically hide scroll bars in Windows"
Windows 11
- Open the Settings application
- Navigate to Accessibility > Visual effects
- Enable / Turn On "Always show scrollbars"
macOS
- Navigate to System Preferences > General
- Underneath the option for "Show scroll bars:" please select "Always".
Troubleshooting Scrollbar Issues on a Smaller Display
LevaData Platform allows users to customize aspects of the table interface and save it to return at a later time. One issue this presents is that if users pin or freeze certain columns of data tables, and then login on a secondary device with a smaller display.
If you have pinned multiple columns in a data table on a larger display and try to view that table on a smaller display, the horizontal space occupied for by the pinned columns may exceed the visible horizontal space of the table (e.g. you pin five columns of data, but your display can only show four columns at a time). In those cases, you will want to unpin at least some of the columns you have pinned so that you have available horizontal space to scroll. Once completed, horizontal scrolling will be possible.
Conclusion
If you have any further issues with scrollbars not presenting in our application, or your OS is not listed here, or you have any other issues, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team.
