Exploring Levadata's Tariff Insights Feature for Global Spend Impact Analysis Follow
LevaData's Tariff Insights is designed to help sourcing professionals mitigate tariff cost impacts on global spend. This feature simplifies the management of alternative sourcing and finding substitute parts to minimize costs and operational challenges.
Understanding Tariff Impacts
The U.S. is implementing tariffs on imports from various countries at different rates. LevaData's Tariff Insights helps users assess the impact on their spend by identifying affected parts based on their country of origin. It also suggests alternative sourcing options from non-tariff countries or substitute parts to mitigate tariff costs.
Sourcing Overview
Displays total spend, total parts, and country of origin details for all manufacturers.
Each pin on the map represents a verified manufacturer site location, curated by LevaData.
Users can view total spend, the number of parts, and identify which parts have a country of origin assigned.
For parts without a country of origin, vendor collaboration can be used to collect this information.
Analyzing Tariff Impact
Select a country from the pull-down menu, e.g., China.
View total spend and associated manufacturers.
Click on "Analyze Tariff Impact" to drill into details of impacted parts.
For parts where China is the only source, calculate the tariff impact.
Use the table view to see part details like CPN, NPN, and contract manufacturer and explore additional insights like date of introduction, financial health ratings, and alternate parts.
Exploring Alternate Country of Origins
Parts can have multiple country of origins, meaning they can be manufactured in different places. Identify parts with an alternative country of origin that might not be impacted by a tariff.
Click on a country to see the tariff impact that can be avoided by sourcing from that country.
Use LevaData Vendor Collaboration to confirm if those parts can be sourced from the alternate country to avoid tariff impact.
Summary
Users can see potential tariff impacts by country and understand which parts are definitely going to receive a tariff impact.
They can quickly check if an alternate part is available with a more favorable country of origin to avoid a tariff.
Additionally, they can see if alternate parts have a better benchmark price and life cycle availability in addition to a country of origin that avoids a tariff.
For further analysis, users can repeat this process for other tariff-impacted countries.
