Custom Part Intelligence: Upload Data Follow
LevaData has Custom Part Benchmarking for Plastics, Resins, and Metals. Our users have Resins and Metals data stored in Excel Workbooks. They can take those native files and quickly load them into LevaData Custom Part Intelligence to properly see price variance of resin material, metal material, and machine rates and discover savings opportunities through normalization.
Data Ingestion
AI Data Ingestion for custom part data enables diagnostics, validation, and rationalization to inform you what in your data needs fixing and how it impacts your total Direct Material Spend. When Uploading Data, this feature will Identify and Report validation errors, provide detailed error descriptions, and provide recommendations on fixing the issue.
Within Custom Part Intelligence, you can navigate to Upload Data, then (1) select the type of data that you want to upload, (2) acquire a standardized template to input your data, and (3) provide the completed file for uploading and processing.
File Upload Management
Once the file is uploaded it needs to mapped and standardized. Users should (1) pick an analysis date and (2) match any unmapped headers to the required fields. Once all fields are marked with green checkmarks you can select apply and start the upload. (3) Customer File Headers will be noted on the right-hand side for matching. There is no need to convert the files; you can use the format you have already to quickly see price variance and enforce the savings you have already negotiated.
The Upload History will now show this file, let you know that analysis is in progress and start a timer. For a normal file this may take between 1-3 minutes, and you can navigate to other areas of the platform while this analysis is in progress.
Within the History interface, you can view the complete history of custom part data that has been uploaded into the LevaData Platform. Warning indicators will let you know if any of these files have data issues which require further validation in diagnostics.
File Upload Diagnostics
Once diagnostics are complete, if issues are found they will be noted:
and you can select the action to review the diagnostics for that file from the associated menu:
The diagnostics tool will validate formatting errors, highlight missing or duplicate data, harmonize and normalize named entries, and identify numeric and monetary values far out of expected ranges.
The diagnostics interface will present (1) all of the associated errors categorized by frequency so that you can tackle individual types of errors. You can (2) download the error records for your data and resolve it for future analysis. Users are given the choice to (3) proceed with the file upload or delete it from the analysis so it does not display in Custom Part Intelligence.
This will take you back to history and let you know that the system is applying final transformation to the data to prepare it for analysis. A timer will start and again you can review other areas of the platform while this is in progress.
Once complete the file icon will change to a green check mark and it is ready to view in the platform.
As users continue to refine Custom Part Data in the platform, LevaData can identify these data issues and recommend how to resolve them in order to enable deeper analysis of these records.
Review New Custom Part Data
You can confirm the new data is present in (1) Customer Loaded Data by (2) limiting analysis to only the month that you just uploaded the data for and (3) checking against the Analysis Date to match critical variables from the file you just uploaded.
You can also immediately go into Custom Spend Intelligence and view your new data by (1) filtering the date down to only the date of your upload, and (2) viewing the analysis of that data excluding all others.
As long as no one else uploaded new data the exact same date as you, your analysis will uniquely display.
Conclusion
You should now understand how to upload custom Resins and Metals data into the LevaData Platform. This enables you to review analyzed custom part data in the platform in minutes rather than days, which grants immediate insights for sourcing custom parts in your supply chain.
