Custom Part Intelligence Follow
Custom Part Intelligence is a LevaData Platform feature that enables users to Benchmark the previously "Un-benchmarkable."
Custom Part Intelligence Overview
Custom Part Intelligence presents awareness of price variance in resin part number pricing and machine rates per press tonnage. Users can see where a lack of data integrity (e.g. Dark Gray, Dark Grey, D Gray, DG, etc.) of nomenclature (colors, Resin Types, Suppliers, Molders etc.) is preventing consolidation awareness that can create savings opportunities. They can also see where price variance occurs within the most logical grouping (e.g. resin, part number, and color).
Custom Spend Intelligence
Custom Spend Intelligence presents a normal aggregate view after all data has been input. Each of the below charts have a supply chain view and clicking on any given element presents you a more digestible version of the chart.
You may want to look at an individual supplier, or color, or you can see where you might have single-source risk, or too many colors, or analyze a supplier to molder relationship.
For example, if you (1) click into any given supplier to molder relationship in the middle chart, then the left chart will (2) breakdown the color spend into the supplier relationship, and the right chart will (3) breakdown the molder spend to machine tonnage.
Part Attributes Price Variance Analysis
The first and largest number in the upper left is the Total Resin Material Savings Opportunity available to you if you buy your resin parts at the lowest cost opportunity level. The table below that Choose Resin Part Number to see Price Variance ranks the parts from highest to lowest savings opportunity.
Part Attributes Price Variance Analysis: Drilldown View
When you click into any of those resin parts, the other dashboards will filter so you can see the price variance and price share. Focusing on part/color savings, if we click into the part with the highest potential savings (i.e. Cycoloy C1200 HF) and then drill into Dark Grey color from supplier Sabic, we can see that there are several molders from there. While we have a lot of supply allocated to CHT, they are delivering at substantially lower minimum cost $/kg than FuYu or Hongrita. It may make sense in the case of that part in that color, that I would want to shift all molding to CHT to realize those savings.
Scrolling down to the Resin Part Number Detail table below, it will be sorted by Min $/kg from the best baseline part up to the worst costed part. In this case, supporting our earlier analysis to shift more molding/manufacturing to CHT.
Machine Rate Variance Analysis
Similar to the previous tab, Total Machine Rate Savings Opportunity table is the large number in the upper left that indicates the total machine savings opportunity. The table below that allows you to Choose Machine Tonnage to see Machine Rate Variance and in there, if we were to select our largest opportunity (i.e. 350-ton press for an object about the size of a trash can), we can filter the other dashboards in drilldown view.
Machine Rate Variance Analysis: Drilldown View
In drilldown view with 350 machine tonnage still selected we can compare the Various Machine Rates for same Tonnage and EAU (Estimated Annual Usage) at Machine Tonnage by Molder and compare top prices. In this example we can see our Estimated Annual Usage at CHT is 98% but the Machine Rate Cost at FuYu $19 instead of $26 at CHT, which represents a considerable savings opportunity.
Scrolling down to the Machine Rate Detail table, the minimum rate is highlighted at the top and the table is sorted by the summed machine_savings in the final column. From here, you can compare other parts, colors, rates, and analyze the potential savings while determining the accuracy of the fit.
Load and Analyze Your Own Custom Parts
Resins is our first developed example; however, this module can be leveraged for other part attribute groups (e.g. Metals, PCBs, Packaging, Wires & Cables, etc.).
Users can provide their Plastic Resins costs models to LevaData for upload and the platform will instantly show price variances and opportunities for Resin pricing and Machine Rates.
Reach out to your customer success manager if you would like to take advantage of this new feature.
Customer Loaded Data
This view allows our customers to compare what they have loaded with what we have in our system. It can be reviewed either in our system or exported via the three-dot menu in the upper right of the table and analyzed on your local machine.
